Moving on, my friends and I went out to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows last night. I kind of had my circular glasses ready for that premiere but lost it so I decided against wearing any eye wear and just enjoy the movie. I surely did. The air of the film was depressing but I'm glad they injected in some humor. I don't want to give anything away for those who haven't watched it yet that's why I'll be giving only vague descriptions of the film. I was particularly entertained during the Tale of the Three Brothers. It was an unusual form of animation which told the story beautifully. Another memorable parts were the multiple Harrys and "the dance". I just kept LOL-ing in my seat. I hope the sucker beside me didn't mind all my chuckling. I screeched from the excitement during the parts when they run away in slow motion. Cinematography included numerous wide-angle shots of various breathtaking places. I left the theater with an "Awww...I want more" feeling but it was still worth the money.

We hit the bazaar at I.T. park right after and bought this baby. It reminded me of Slytherin and how I have the biggest crush on Draco Malfoy.

This message was from the movie, Leap Year. It made my heart melt because in that moment of the film, it was intimate enough for the message to come across to the audience.

One part of the movie Declan asked Anna that if her house was on fire what one thing would she grab first within 60 seconds.

It struck me... what would I grab first? I though it out a lot and it would be my shoebox of pictures, jewelries, memorabilias and letters that I keep on the back part of my closet. 

What would you grab first when your house--God forbid that happens-- is in a smoldering fire?

kinetic energy is dance

We booked our whole afternoon for the mind-blowing dance and music of Step Up 3 but sadly not in 3D. No fret, 2D offered just us much pump, fangirling and giddiness between Rhea, Steffi and I.

Story-wise, I don't even want to talk about how lame and typical it is. I just want to focus on the dance!

Very very impressive and spectacular. The delivery is smooth and there is more focus on the eye candy, that is Adam G. Sevani aka Moose, than in the previous film. We went all out with our shrieks and goosebumps when he starts dancing. I guess he's so adorable with his curly fluffy hair, big smile and skinny jeans. Much props to Jon M. Chu for assembling such remarkable dancers and offering an entertaining slice of talent.

What a ground breaking revolutionary way of seeing dance.

First Impressions

At the beginning of the movie, Elizabeth is shown reading a novel titled "First Impressions" - this was Jane Austen's original title of her novel before she altered it to "Pride and Prejudice"

The film's U.S. ending was ranked as one Entertainment Weekly's greatest movie endings of all time. I've only realized about this alternate ending recently when my friends showed it to me on YouTube. Here's what I mean.

Mr. Darcy: How are you this evening, my dear?

Elizabeth Bennet: Very well... although I wish you would not call me "my dear."

Mr. Darcy: [chuckles] Why?

Elizabeth Bennet: Because it's what my father always calls my mother when he's cross about something.

Mr. Darcy: What endearments am I allowed?

Elizabeth Bennet: Well let me think..."Lizzie" for every day, "My Pearl" for Sundays, and..."Goddess Divine"... but only on *very* special occasions.

Mr. Darcy: And... what should I call you when I am cross? Mrs. Darcy...?

Elizabeth Bennet: No! No. You may only call me "Mrs. Darcy"... when you are completely, and perfectly, and incandescently happy.

Pride and Prejudice...oh how may times do I dream of their love story over and over again in their era, in those clothes, without all the hustles and bustles of today. The film has truly made a mark and it's not just another sappy-British-love-story-which-is-so-hard-to-comprehend-coz-of-their-heavy-accents movie, this is the kind of movie that has made it on my list!

And I'm telling you, my list has heavy requirements.
Oh what a beautiful way to start August.

That line has stamped my mind since I've watched the trailer. And I did not stop at any means until I've watched the movie and even after I've seen it, I will have it in my long term memory forever.


Rating: A+

Mr. Nobody is profoundly riveting. It brought me to tears.
The story line is compelling and it blew my mind away. A thousand possibilities can stem from a single choice. It may be hard to comprehend at first but soon it will all align to the beauty that this film has sent to its audience. Please do choose to see it. It's worth it.

How To Train Your Dragon

If I were in 3D, I would applaud the visual interpretation of every little details that they put into this film. The fire, yes!, especially the fire! So I wasn't in 3D, but still, a big hoorah for the animators. The story is wonderful and touching. It didn't make me wanna cry but the ending was a shocker. I was quite taken aback as to why they did the ending since it is a children's film. It headed straight to reality instead. I don't want to give out spoilers, but if you wanna know how it ended, then just holler.

And it's official, dragons are my new most favorite mythical creatures. (Sorry Kraken.) Niece thought the same thing and she wants Night Fury aka Toothless! N.F. is so adorable I could just strangle him from too much cuteness!

The dragon Toothless was modeled after the character Stitch of Chris Sanders' previous work, Lilo & Stitch (2002) since a few of Stitch's personality flaws reflect off of the character.

I can honestly say that Nine was enjoyable. The movie enveloped me to a different level of musical-ity. Choreography, costume design, set design, the plot was intriguing. I felt sad for Luisa Contini having a husband like Guido but it cannot be helped I guess. It was grand and deep. It was Italia at its best. Daniel Day Lewis was believable with that skinny little tie, dark shades and sleek hair. The songs are remarkable and original. I've been singing along the whole time.

I know there's not much moral lesson in the movie, but I'm after the whole package which isn't too bad.

Micheal and Gabriel aren't the best of friends

The Plot: An out-of-the-way diner becomes the unlikely battleground for the survival of the human race. When God loses faith in humankind, he sends his legion of angels to bring on the Apocalypse. Humanity's only hope lies in a group of strangers trapped in a desert diner with the Archangel Michael (Bettany).  source.

My Review: Legion left me questions unasked. Such as, why the heck is the baby so important? Is he the only baby left in the world? There was 70% action and flat ended humor lines. The acting was disappointing. and the plot isn't as gripping. Reminds me a bit of Constantine (Keanu Reeves) without the black suit but a whole lot of guns, a diner and freaky grandma. The good part is both Angel Gabriel and Micheal portrayed well.

I'm guessing this movie isn't in your usual watch list but this is on mine. Here we have Nine directed by Mr. Rob Marshall.

The release date in the US was Dec. 25, 2009. Ohhhh come on! Show this in the Philippines already.

Did you know?  George Clooney, Johnny Depp and Antonio Banderas (who took Guido's role in 2003 Broadway revival, and was nominated for a 'Tony Award') were considered as possible Guido.

a 3D first: Up

They were not kidding when they say that 3D does make the movie pop out and come to life.. like that snowflake falling on my lap or that swishing whip coming right at my face. So it was a pain in the pocket and a tinge of giddiness when i knew we were gonna watch Up in 3D at SM Cinema 3.

Okay so that's not what SM Cinema looks like nor does the 3D shades are in that perspective. Ahaha.

Anywho, Up was awesome. Started the tearworks pretty early. Darn it Disney! ahaha. Looks like old people does have some adventure tricks up their stained old sleeves.. or collars. Love the scenery, colors and plot itself. "Thank you for the adventure. Now go have a new one -Ellie (Mr. Fredrickson's wife)". And oh that Doberman dog with the squeaky voice gave me laughter pains. And Doug (the dog) was cute. :D

I was incredibly short up my money that moment so Jer chipped in to buy me a blouse, coz yes I was still wearing my school uniform (which is a NO when going in movie theaters) and jaky treated us with free snazzy slippers and oh the 3D movie itself. Actually we already bought tickets for the 2D Up but then we were talking about 3D and they were suddenly leaning on it and changed the tickets for the latter instead. woohoo! Hooray to being spontaneous. Maybe we were too spontaneous for the fact that Julien kinda got irritated why we didn't invite her. For the only reason that, we never really expected the movie plan to happen.

this vid was a month ago. so forgive the sudden drop of movie title.

when i don't get to see the latest biggest movies of the season, per se Transformers 2:Revenge of the Fallen, i get reduced to be a victim of my own thriftiness.

Now my friends here are more of the "you're a loser, it's okay, i think". But honestly, it's catchy. They could use this for a commercial hook song or something.. lol.

movie date: angels and demons + escapade

Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon (Hanks) finds himself in Rome, where he has to race against time to prevent the Illuminati, a secret society, from putting in motion a terrorist act that could destroy the Vatican. He's aided in his quest by the beautiful Italian scientist Vittoria Vetri (Zurer).

my review:

I am so glad this was not in any way connected to the Da Vinci's Code coz I swear I've never been able to finish watching the latter for reasons of boredom and unsparked interest.
Back to Angels and Demons, this was wonderfully thought out. Another thriller mind maze keeping me at the edge of my seat with no popcorn in hand for fear of choking (it may happen!).

This was the best yet of 2009 for me. I loved how the movie is letting me travel to Rome at the same time because my summer is only limited to the plastic swimming pool we have backyard. Oh, the Vatican unsurprisingly did not give the filmmakers permission to shoot on its sacred grounds; most everything you'll see will be a loving re-creation of St. Peter's Square and the buildings that surround it.

I was surprised this didn't cause quite a stir with the Church unlike the last one. All in all, the movie was harmless and wonderful. It all ended on a good note, then twist, then good note again. I left the theater satisfied.

Another escapade with the girls!

Did i mention that I had a nightout with steffi, rhea, eva and kristian last May 15, 16 & 17. We went all over the clubs, then ayala then their houses. I was glad we didnt drink too much. I can't stand it if anyone of us got drunk. I slept two night in a row at steffi's. She was so kind to offer me an extra day to sleep at her house since they were worried for me travelling very late at night.

Finally I got out of my house and went out and about with them.
