the glow on the windowpane
We had the most lovely time with all our lecturers during our Christmas dinner as sponsored by the college. It was an outstanding 3-course meal and the conversations across the table were lively and loud, as always. It's nice to know our lecturers outside the classroom as we only meet them two times a week. We tore open those crackers, wore our "eating" party hats and let tour taste buds succumb to the culinary goodness that they offered. Thank you for this.

PASSED + UN-PASSED
I cannot seem to contain my happiness that I passed the all important July 2010 Board Exams.
I cannot seem to contain my sadness that my sister did not pass it.
I keep thinking that probably today was a dream. *pinch pinch*
After 2 months of waiting for it, it's finally here.
I was at a restaurant eating lunch with Jacky when I kept noticing that my phone is full of messages telling me the results were out. I was going ecstatic when I read that I passed. I'm so happy for me and my friends. I sent a text to my sister saying that we love her no matter what happens. By the time I got home, there was this ache and happiness I have inside. Everyone was really cool about our situations. Ice cream kept us all in the joyful mood.
I love you too ma.
We lit candles for the Lord. All glory goes to Him.

this is how an alumni feels
I'm getting my campus blues. Okay so I may have graduated last April but it didn't take a while for the feeling to seep in. It was way sooner than this, only this time I just had to blog it down.
I'm looking at old pictures, missing good friends, getting tagged on old photos at Facebook, doodling at my planner when there's nothing to plan and most of all, buying a shirt from the school especially when university events come up.
i just got back from Bohol the time I got the shirt. my apologies for the after-travel look.
my doodles for September..
I miss going to school. There I said it!

kudos to me.
This is the day I can share with my grandchildren in the future.
My Graduation Day.
Lining up during the processionals was the tensing part coz when I walk through those doors, the bright lights meet you and I try to resist every inch in me not to trip over the carpet. I breathed in, walk that walk and survived. I try not to smile too big coz my gums might show.lol But the feeling is ... everything that you could encompass in the word 'happiness'.
Shaking Daddy L's hands when I got that diploma is everything I hoped it would be. Fulfilling.
Getting pinned by Dr. Dean and advising me to study hard is also everything I hoped it would be. Wonderful.
Staying still for that one of a kind class picture with Daddy Adviser is majestic.
Smiling big for every camera you see is a tough job but the memory it captures will be there. (in Facebook, tehee)
The Nurse's Notes were angels. I closed my eyes to absorb the music. They did 3 songs, a tribute to the Dean, to the students and then to the parents. How entrancing.
Many applauds for the awardees.
In all honesty, I slept in between some of the ceremonies because it was taking too long. It isn't easy handing out 900+ diplomas to 900+ graduates.
So hats off to the TAU 2nd Generation Class of 2010. We deserved this!

Garland 2010
Today was the day the Garland 2010 ceremony had taken its course. With a "cruise ship" theme in mind, the juniors and seniors of the University were putting their best heels forward with heads held high.
My ticket to the event:
The program was very much a blur aside from the following:
-the dude who sang for this girl before she had to graduate. while he was singing he went to her table and continued singing to her from there. sweeeet!
-the intermission numbers: the salsa dance, the G boys' dance number and freesteps.
-the giving away of awards, our classmate won the Lady of the Ship award. Have you seen Rachel McAdams in Sherlock Holmes? Well, my classmate's dress is like that, except that it's black and white.
-the dinner slash buffet part gave me the most pain in the heels. I can't believe it was a buffet styled dinner. Don't the juniors understand that we are about 900+ seniors in our batch? Geeez. I have forever plastered it in my brain that that was the worst part ever.
-what happened to the token giving? I thought that was the most prized and essential part of the event? Damn and darn the organizers of the event. I remembered last year I was heading one of the committees, it was smooth sailing my friend not unlike this time. tsktsk.
-the souvenir from the event
-and shot loads of photos.
Well the after party compensated all of it though. We had the blastest time partying and dancing the whole night and morning long. Even in high heels we can still rock it!

revalida whatever
As I pause and take a little breather from all the movies, I would just like to share: Revalida oh how I hate and love you.
How you strangle my neurons with your situational questions, I do not know.
How your minions laugh and contort their faces every time an answer is delivered, I quiver.
How you control time and every ringing bell is another chamber, I tremble.
How I answer you with confidence, I feel undefeated.
How I speed up to the next chair, I feel the rush.
You had me beaten down 6 times out of 8 but whatever.
Just whatever.

thesis issues
After days and nights of resenting, cursing, regretting, sulking in dperession why we took so long to finish our thesis, we finally had our Re-oral today and the result is: pending.
I was so relieved. I don't want the emotional train coming up on my nerve-wracked tracks again!
I would like to nag and complain where we got wrong but I'm the person who looks on the bright side of things.
So here is my, "Here's what I've learned when you're working on a thesis with 11 other people" list:
1. Friendships and fren-emies are formed and bonded over loads of time, money and sweat! (more emphasis on the money! *cough about 14 thousand spent!*)
2. You will get loads of irritating group updates via texts by an irritated leader/ member on how your thesis is going and no one bothers to reply or just deletes the message once they know the leader/member had sent it. hmmf! (You should be thankful the leader hasn't flooded your phones with hate!)
3. You get stacks of scratch papers from a pile load of print outs that were checked, rechecked and had to be printed again. Recycling is key!
4. Filipino time. A perfect excuse to be late for a meeting.
5. The diamonds in the rough stands out. You can tell if they are when they are hardworking, always there, bends to your every command, complains a bit but still finishes the job!
6. Someone in your group should at least own a car. I say jeepneys are a hassle, and taxis are expensive. But when all 11 people fit inside a car, it's a carpool frenzy and helps prevent global warming!
7. Get a really awesome ring tone that you love 'coz you know people will be calling on you and asking "WHERE IN THE WORLD ARE YOU??? THE MEETING STARTED 2 HOURS AGO!!"
8. Own a really small laptop. It's just convenient for everyone.
9. Assign tasks to members who are reliable. Assign tasks to members who are unreliable also, that's just to check if they can be reliable.
10. Bring your boyfriends or girlfriends to the meetings. They can help out, I think.
11. I get to learn the types of leadership: democratic, autocratic and the laissez-faire. I am a mixture of all those.
12. Generosity is essential. Once they learn that you're the rich kid in the group, your wallet is now famous. Watch out!
13. Only let one person do all the typing, editing, proof reading and revising. While the rest of the 11 members don't have to suffer torturous neck aches, eye strains, possible Carpal Tunnel, back aches and the loss of a social life.
14. Crying is weak. So when the leader cries, just stare. Then joke about the leader when she's not looking.
15. Even if the study didn't quite go well as I expected. At least we weren't given a grade of 4.
16. Your group gets assigned to a wonderful mentor who will be there for you every step of the way. Yes, just wonderful of our "mentor" to ask us how we are doing whenever she actually remembers.
End. My neck is aching now and I have to continue with the revision. toodles!

4j's seminar
We held our first ever seminar on Substance Abuse, Alcoholism, Colon Cancer and Cervical Cancer.
The speakers lightened the load as well. Smooth sailing, I say.
So glad that we pulled it off nicely with comments from the The Dean herself. Well, lesson learned.
The post-seminar with SG was so fun:
Open karaoke at Quantum SM Cebu--- we were shy at first then vavavoom we owned that stage! Even if there were other people waiting in lie for the karaoke machine. Ha!
and Pizza Hut Bistro---- ordering one pizza for the five of us was the biggest challenge ever! And then came the drinks (give us another hour to decide!)
Laugh trips.... FLYING CAKE! (that's me with an awesome right leg kick! and posing quite awesome for the camera *cough *cough)
