dessert date + badminton

August 7-- Saturday morning dessert date with Nicole, Eva, Emma and Madz at Fudge in Banilad, Mandaue.

I am particularly surprised how it's home-y resto style is located just by the road so it's conspicuous enough for people to go and try their delectable dishes. Ok so I forgot some of the names, my apologies.

Kit Kat Cake

Linguini Pomodoro

Linguini Pesto

Carbonara

In the afternoon, I hanged with Julz and her family at Patt's Badminton Court. I am so sweaty that in my 15 minutes of cycling at the gym equates with 5 minutes of badminton especially when you're up against Julz or Echan. *eeeeviiillll*

I noticed that while I was playing badminton, I make this kind of indescribable seriously funny sound. I even do some leg kicks while I'm at it which actually means that I had fun.

Bang Bang Splat!

July 15, 2010- That's the sound someone makes when they target an automatic paintball gun at someone else's behind from a 10 feet distance. And believe me, it still leaves a bruise.

Mental Note: call them up in advance so they could prepare all the guns. In our case, we just walked in and thank goodness, there wasn't anyone else before us so we had all the afternoon for fun.

My friends and I were planning this for a year but never really got around to doing it. Finally, since everyone had all the time in the world, I  was inviting people to come and play. 12 people showed up so that's more than I expected. Thank you Rhe, Stef, Ev, Jacky, Vince, Jer, Erwin, Sienes, July, Aby and Alron for being part of the hooplah.

the guns (manual/automatic)

the pellets- these babies hurt like hell when you're caught off guard

the green team with their 'war face' on!

the killing field.

happy sweaty faces.

We were divided into two batches since there were only up to 10 guns, and each batch played 3 games. When the time came that it was girls vs. the girls, all of us were too scared to even make a move or corner the other team for fear of getting shot. The referee kept telling us to be on our defense but all that time we were hiding and trying to find the enemy. And when it was the boys' turn, they were killing mercilessly at each other. I guess they were thrilled that they finally have a hands on feeling on what war could be like rather than just playing it on their computer. Haha

I was breathing so hard that my mask eventually fogged up and the gun was too heavy for me. I was hiding until I can secretly shoot the other team one by one. And I did. Well, that is until it was the other way around.

I guess I have to mention all the bruises we've gone home with. I especially got a nasty one at my right butt cheek. I would love to show a picture but a perfect description of its brownish, purplish and reddish circumference the size of a golf ball is sufficient enough. Plus, the head shot on the right side of my head had me dizzied. Eva had a taste of a free-floating pellet shot on her right shoulder while she was just out of the game and was just taking picture of the game. It was the funniest scenario ever.

Oh look-y. Pictures!

mine. at the right butt cheek.

steffi's. on her right shoulder.

eva's. on her right thigh.

Now I'm home to tell this story and to find some ice.
At least I've got a story to tell on how my BAD ASS bruise came about. :D

An all-European showdown tore at the nerves of two great footballing cultures as the contest threatened to run to a penalty shoot-out before Barcelona's Andrés Iniesta closed the deal with a right-foot shot four minutes from the end of extra time. source

Due to the sucky time slot that Philippines had to endure *cough 2:30AM *cough, I am always unable to wake up at that time since when I sleep, I sleep hard. No alarm clock can awaken me. It kills me that I didn't watch the finals live. But that's okay, that's what replays are for anyway.

My sincerest congratulations, kudos and Viva's! to Spain. Sure they may have conquered our country for 300 years, that doesn't mean I still hold a grudge against that. In a little way, I'm glad they did colonize us. Okay, I'm gonna stop right there with my history talking.

My bets were: South Africa, Spain, Italy and England. So 1 out of 4 made it to the finals and won that gorgeous trophy for their country.

Netherlands did a very good job as well since it has been about 23 years since they even made it to the World Cup. Congrats to the Dutch as well.

This video gave me the goosebumps. Well if Paul "The Oracle" Octopus hadn't been right then prolly no one will ever believe him again. Oh Andres Iniesta, you will be praised for a long time.

A night of celebration started in Madrid on Sunday as Spain beat the Netherlands 1-0 to clinch the nation's first World Cup and take its place among international football's all-time greatest teams. (July 11, 2010)

Fifa World Cup 2010 Kickoff!

Let the football..errr, soccer fever begin!

After Italy's championship last 2004, I'm here to support my top 4 fave countries: Italy, South Africa, Spain and England.

This comes every 4 years, so I'm not missing this one. Well, I'm trying to watch as many matches as I can if my schedule allows it to be so. And lo and behold the schedule: (Philippines Time Zone based)

Thanks to ballschannel.

And Fifa has the most adorable mascot.
Say Hi! to Zakumi. Here's a background check on him:

Over the last years he has travelled the whole of Africa where the leopard habitat is good (pretty much everywhere from open savannahs, forests, jungles to mountainous areas, even deserts). He has therefore learned to adapt to new environments; enjoying the diversity in nature and people across the African continent
The name ‘Zakumi' is a composition of ‘ZA' standing for South Africa and ‘kumi', which translates into ‘10' in various languages across Africa.
Zakumi's main priority is to turn the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa into one huge, joyful and unforgettable party and show the thousands of international guests the warmth and spirit of the African continent.

Oh would you look at the time, it's South Africa vs. Mexico people!
