I WANT A LOMO!

What is a Lomo? Well, It's short for lomography.

Lomography emphasizes casual, snapshot photography. Characteristics such as over-saturated colors, off-kilter exposure, blurring, "happy accidents," and alternative film processing are often considered part of the "Lomographic Technique." source

10 Golden Rules of Lomography.

1. Take your camera everywhere you go
2. Use it any time – day and night
3. Lomography is not an interference in your life, but part of it
4. Try the shot from the hip
5. Approach the objects of your lomographic desire as close as possible
6. Don’t think (william firebrace)
7. Be fast
8. You don’t have to know beforehand what you captured on film
9. Afterwards either
10. Don’t worry about any rules

Sample Lomo Photos from Lomography.com

The particular lomo camera I want is the Hello Kitty Fisheye.

Lomography and Sanrio have come together to collaborate on a new Fisheye 1 camera. Wrapped in a vibrant blue-and-white outfit and with a red accent in honour of Hello Kitty’s bow, the special edition camera features iconic Hello Kitty designs on the front and back and an embossed Hello Kitty logo on the lens cap. It’s supercute and a must-have for every fan and collector! Just like the rest of the Fisheye family, it brings your subject into a tight circle, and stamps it in a convenient 35mm print. Radiant colours, superior sharpness, in a fun, barrel-distorted perspective!

Highlights:
-Yields a 170-degree perspective in a compact circle
-Superbly sharp pictures, even in extreme close-ups!
-Premium plastic optics for excellent Fisheye shots
-Supercute Hello Kitty design with blue-white-red detail

From the Hello Kitty Fisheye point of view:

Dell-icious

Bless my kuya's heart for buying his wife a Dell Inspiron Mini 10 Netbook. Awesome gift!

I haven't read other reviews for this and I have not read its specifications too, so this mini review is merely my own first hand experience.

After about 5 hours of scrutinizing the beauty that it is, I have to say that its lightweight body makes it easier for a person to carry around with one hand.
The keyboard keys are too square and a bit spaced out for me, so I kind of develop typo problems.
Its built in camera, and i have no idea how many megapixels this baby has, I can say, is crystal clear enough.
When I watch videos on it, I have to move in closer to actually listen to the dialogues/music.
It has Windows XP, it's sufficient enough.
It has no CD ROM. Has wifi and bluetooth connection.
It's 10 inch screen is not too tiny to do your work on it.

All in all, i'm liking it! A rating of 6/10.

500gb of awesomeness!

It was none of the choices I narrowed down to in my previous post here, but then again, it's Seagate!

Seagate Free Agent External Hard Drive 500GB for Php4,700 at PC Express Cebu.

I can now heave a sigh of relief. Phew! I have a huge music collection and I can't imagine it blowing up in smitherins if anything happens to it.

portable memory

My lappy was busted even before I bought the most valuable thing in technological history!

I have been itching to buy a portable hard drive and now is the time to do so because I don't want my pictures, music, videos and movies to be deleted just because of some stupid, malicious, evil virus/es. It pains me when I look back at my deleted files. Huhu. This happened twice and every time I reformat, it always breaks my heart because I have to start all over again.

I'm determined to buy 500GB of pure solid awesomeness but too confused as to which brand:

Buffalo
USB 2.0 Portable Hard Disk with Turbo PC

- Slim design and lightweight
- TurboPC - Increases your file transfer speed!
- Plug-n-Play - ready for immediate use
- USB powered - no power supply needed
- SecureLockMobile™ software for Windows® PC encrypts your data, preventing unauthorized access

My Passport Essential
Ultra-portable Hard Drives
500 GB, USB 2.0

 Smaller. Smarter. Safer.
Our smallest portable drive ever is also our smartest with visual, automatic, continuous backup and password protection.

Samsung S2 Portable 500 GB

Samsung provided us with two drives for review: the 2.5” S2 with a 500 GB capacity, and its 1.8” little brother named the S1 (details on the next page). The HXMU050DA is Samsung’s current flagship model, but you can also get 320 GB, 250 GB, and 160 GB capacity units. All of these are based on a USB 2.0 interface and come in four different colors: black, brown, red, or white. Compared to other portable storage products, which are typically black or at least somewhat dark in shade, the S2 Portable provides styling that might be a better match for the fairer sex and style-crazed kids.

There are more brands out there, I know, but these are the ones I've narrowed down to.
Do you have a portable hard drive? Any words of advice before I buy?

I remember the original Sims so clearly. I would go crazy just piling up that Simoleon money then I realized there were cheats for that. Ha! I've had numerous fantasy jobs and this one I didn't have to cheat for because I seriously had to improve it all the way until the kids came... and they went (well, to military school i guess... so sorry kids)
